Sample Assignments

  • Helping a start-up that had developed a new product database designed with customer choice in mind. However, the company had difficulty retaining the right executive team and transitioning the focus from growth to profitability. We projected the management skills the company would need at various stages of its future growth and designed a compensation program to support its strategy. This start-up now has positive cash flow for the first time and is becoming an industry leader.
  • When a financial services company decided to review its management incentive plans, we conducted a series of analyses to identify the financial and non-financial performance measures that drove shareholder value. The company decided to expand the incentive program to all employees and began a comprehensive communication effort to ensure that employees clearly understood the connection between their activities, the plan's measures and the impact on corporate growth, profitability and increasing shareholder value. Hallmarks of the new program included:
    • Expanding incentive plan eligibility to all employees
    • Aligning compensation more closely with individual, department and overall company financial performance
    • Redesigning stock option and stock purchase plans to retain key employees and focus them on the drivers of shareowner value
